What I Love Most

I love to laugh. I love my children and my husband. I love the smell of the first rain. I love my pasta and my showers the exact same way, blazing hot. I love being excited about a novel i’m reading so much so that I look forward to opening it up in silence. I love hearing my kids call me from upstairs. I love waking up in the morning and forgetting that I moved.

I love the fact that people still say hello to each other in my neighborhood. I love clean sheets. I love when a good song comes on the radio and I can jam out. I love when my husband looks at me like I’m the only person in the room. I love when my mom calls me hunny. I love when I make a perfect dinner that my entire family eats.

I love a summer breeze. I love getting ready for a night out. I love when someone says I remind them of my dad. I love research. I love thick toilet paper and bbq burgers served on paper plates. I love the red faces of my kids near the waters edge on a family beach day. I love when the Amazon truck pulls up.

I love picking up my kids from school. I love fresh flowers. I love the carwash and the feeling of a clean car. I love when someone scratches my back. I love getting cards “just because.” I love candles and the light they provide. I love friends who forgive. I love second chances … but not thirds.

I love when i’m at a concert and the artist stops and lets the audience sing. I love tequila. I love palm trees. I love couches that allow you to melt in them. I love when I get really mad and feel alive. I love sleepy eyes. I love to attend live sporting events. I love that my neighbors love my kids. I love that I my parents allowed me to make mistakes.

I love my therapist. I love the sense of endless possibilities. I love the smell of kids towels. I love when I see someone I know out in public. I love when my husband fills up my gas tank. I love when my kids bring home school projects or something they’ve been working on in class. I love soft pajamas.

I love birthdays and celebrating them BIG. I love when Nick throws something my way and I actually catch it. I love family bike rides. I love Orcas. I love exploring but only to extent. I love target. I love dinner parties. I love togetherness.

I love solace.

I love empathy.

…. to be continued.
